How To Create Click To Profile/ Visit Instagram Profile Ad From Ads Manager

Click to profile Instagram ads are ads that have a Visit Instagram Profile call to action button. Using this ad type has some advantages e.g it helps to grow your Instagram followers faster than the normal campaign types 

However, By default this call to action type is not available on ads manager. It only shows when posts are boosted via the Instagram app or via Meta business suite. An example of this ad type is shown in the below image.

There are several reasons why you may want to promote this ad type via ads manager and not the Instagram app. Some reasons are:

• Ads manager offers more targeting options than Instagram app e.g Behavior targeting and custom audience targeting is not available on Instagram app. They are only available on ads manager.
• For some reason your preferred ad account may not show up as one of the available payment methods on Instagram app (This was what happened in my situation)
• You want all your ads to be under a single campaign. Promoting via Instagram app will always create an ad as a new campaign
• Or you just like promoting via ads manager.

By default only the below call to action buttons show on Instagram. 

So how do we go about achieving the Visit Instagram Profile call to action on ads manager. There are two ways we can do this. 

How To Create Instagram Click To Profile Ads - Method 1

1. First promote your desired post via Instagram app on your phone
2. Immediately you do, visit the ad account where it is and pause it
3. Go to page posts section in ads manager (Screenshot below)

   4. Click on Ad posts and copy the post id of the ad you boosted from your mobile phone

5. Go back to ads manager, create you campaign, set your targeting and any other detail you want to set at the adset level. Remember to select your placement as just Instagram, not automatic placement. In the create an ad section, choose use existing post and paste your copied post id in the provided space

6. Publish your Ad

How To Create Instagram Click To Profile Ads - Method 2

The second method of achieving the visit Instagram profile call to action is shorter and more straight forward. This is via Meta business suite. The steps are highlighted below:

1. Go to Meta business suite

2. Select your chosen Instagram account on the navigation pane

3. Click on the create ad button

4. Select your goal: Choose boost an Instagram post

5.Select the particular post you want to boost

6. Set your targeting, budget and other settings.

7. Click the Boost post now button
